Key Focus of Role
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement telecommunications policies and procedures to help achieve IT Digital Grid Services organizational business goals and drive innovation to give a competitive edge.
Collaboration: Partner with multi-functional teams to understand business needs and to drive data standards, data quality, and ensure automation strategies are effective and efficient.
Automation: Use data analytics and automation technology to continuously enhance automation strategies to keep automation up-to-date and deliver meaningful benefits to the IT Digital Grid Services organization.
Data Standards: Actively implement standards, measure performance of engineering metrics data standards, and report progress to various leadership forums.
Data Engineering: Develop and maintain technical data standards including data engineering and data science to ensure alignment with emerging technologies and industry trends (e.g., data fabric, data mesh). Additionally, work with telecommunications and network engineers, data scientists, and IT Grid Services Automation team to ensure consistent data standards.
Workplace Learning : Facilitate training and support to engineering teams on automation practices and processes.

Responsibilities
Troubleshoots the most business-critical and time sensitive production impacting incidents
Manages and supports application and infrastructure resources in new project implementations
Drives the usage of and improvement to the IT Service desk ticketing system, including documenting knowledge-based articles
Coordinates and drives resolution for complex and multi-site user-impacting events
Assists the IT asset management program include laptops, desktops, peripherals, tablets/iPads, and software licenses
Actively participates and assists in developing processes such as configuration management, incident, problem and knowledge management, and change controls utilizing Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) and other common best practices
Serves as the initial point of contact on day-to-day operational, process, and performance items
Registers incidents and requests and effectively priorities work to resolve within the agreed service level of agreement; handles tickets assigned to service management team raised by all channels (call, email, IM, or self-service portal) and fulfils day-to-day technology operation demands from stakeholders
Performs onsite hardware and software fixes and workarounds where necessary across multiple sites
Prepares detailed documentation and guidance to all users in the effective use of systems and products where required

Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience in IT Service Delivery.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or relevant technical field.
Five or more years of experience in Engineering or Data Analytics.
Five or more years of experience in Telecommunications.
Experience in Backend Automation Technologies and Artificial Intelligence (such as APIs, Python Language, or Bash/PowerShell scripting language)
Experience with process improvement workflows such as ITIL, Kaizen or Lean and/or tools such as Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Machine Learning Technologies in Data Modeling and tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch or SparkML with any type of neural architecture.
Experience with optical theory and transport technologies and the operation of optical transport MPLS, DWDM, SONET and Microwave systems.
Experience with Telecommunications Engineering within the Electric Utility Industry.
Experience with electric grid operations (e.g., experience with SCADA or Protective Relaying).
Experience mentoring, developing, training, and providing functional direction to technical staff.
Experience integrating work across relevant areas, developing the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, managing risks and safety appropriately.
Strong ethics, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
Additional Information
This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.u202f Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.u202f Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

The primary work location for this position is Rosemead, CA. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at Pomona, CA or other SCE work locations.
Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
