Become a Material Coordinator Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work with the grid general supervisor (the GS) and analyst to gather, compile, review, assess, and create orders from notifications in SAP. This individual will assist the GS, PSPEC’s, construction crews, grading crews, and patrol organization with scheduling, execution, and completion of compliance documentation, record keeping related to maintenance activities, and capital projects within the grid. This position will coordinate with the Field Accounting Organization (FAO) and vendors with ordering, delivering, and staging of all material related to both capital and O&M (Operations and Maintenance) work within the grid. Monitor compliance due dates through CMS and SAP.
Support the G.S’s., PSPEC’s, Foreman, with tools and material needed to complete compliance dated jobs.
Work with FAO to order and track tools, material, PPE for grid
Inventory tools, material for the crew and patrols
Support for traffic control, heavy equipment, cranes, pole drops at the request of local supervision.
Monitors the grids rotation dates on grounds, rubber goods, tool rotations, PPE, fire extinguishers.
Work with the local facilities management team on proper storage of hazardous material and flammable material along with proper housekeeping at the local grid bases.
Manage operational compliance documentation (DVIR’s, driver’s files (DOT), yard inspections, and Tailboard forms).
Manage Facilities at Laydown Yards and Outlying Patrol Offices.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The essentials
Experience in utility operations and or construction coordination.
Three or more years of experience in inventory control or Warehouse management.
Possess a valid Driver’s license.
The preferred
Possesses three or more years of experience in transmission/ distribution line construction and operations.
Experience with Transmission Distribution work methods, equipment, tools, materials and vehicles.
Project management experience, including using and updating project tracking tools, creating and editing reports, adjusting schedules, reallocating resources, and providing updates.
Knowledge of safe work policies and procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP.
Analyze problems and develop and implement plans/tactics, with limited information and under tight time constraints.
Demonstrate effective resource planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
