    Position summary

    Join the Clean Energy Revolution

    The Principal Manager – Financial Planning, Reporting, & Analysis will lead a dynamic team of professionals within the Operational Finance organization at SCE. You will lead the financial planning and monthly financial performance for SCE’s total Operations and Maintenance (O&M) expenses and Capital investments. A summary of key functions include: support and consolidate operating plans and budgets; lead all aspects of the monthly outlook and year-to-date financial performance, be responsible for processing and maintenance of financial data, support cost-recovery regulatory filings, address strategic issues and act as key consultant/advisor to senior management.

    A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright! 

    • Prepare and present total company consolidated Operating Plans in support of O&M expense and capital expenditures, including working with up and down-stream partners to establish long-term plans and support internal and external disclosures.
    • Lead the total Company O&M and Capital monthly financial performance reviews working closely with counterparts supporting each operating unit, including analysis of year-to-date performance, trend analysis and understanding of outlook revisions to ensure execution and financial discipline to operate within budgets.
    • Process monthly financial data and maintain the corporate operating expenses and Capital expenditure data warehouse to support financial budgeting and forecasting, monthly financial analyses, as well as various regulatory filings and compliance audits.
    • Lead or participate in various finance projects that may include, but are not limited to, addressing internal/external audit findings, reviewing, approving and interpreting regulatory requirements, advising senior leaders on complex compliance issues that impact the Company, financings, divestitures and acquisitions; proactively identifies and resolves issues that may impair the OUs ability to meet strategic and financial objectives; acts as an experienced witness for General Rate Case (GRC), prepares testimonies, conducts ad-hoc financial analysis for projects and develops financial models on the economic feasibility of proposed projects or investments.
    • Prepare and present written analysis and interpretation of results to senior management, officers and/or Board of Directors.

    Qualifications

    The essentials

    • Seven or more years of combined experience managing, supervising or leading teams over finance functions.

    The preferred 

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or similar field.
    • CPA/CFA Certification. 
    • Ability to accurately analyze information and make strategic decisions that have cross-organizational impact as well as being a valued thought partner.
    • Experience developing and implementing short-term and long-term strategic planning activities, including financial modeling and analysis.
    • Strong leadership, communication and negotiating skills to build consensus with stakeholders to develop and maintain partnerships with support organizations and senior management.
    • Experience with General Rate Case regulatory processes.
    • Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
    • Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively handle stress and engage in continuous learning.

    This position’s work mode is Hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
