    Position summary

    etc.) and major capital projects that involve the Substation Engineering Modelling Tool (SEMT) interface with substation Human Machine Interface (HMI).

    • Provides technical support to Substation Construction & Maintenance (SC&M) to facilitate problem resolutions.
    • Issues RTU/PLC point-list, ePAC, Optimum panel and battery charger configurations.
    • Develops SEMT/HMI point list for SA-3, SA-2, SAS, RTU/ePAC substations.
    • Prints review for automation equipment, configuration, and QA of SEMT/HMI/ePAC/PLC files.
    • Configuration and programming of ePAC/PLC's, Momentum PLC's, Optimum panel, and Bridge configuration, Automation Drawings QA review.
    • Collaborates closely with the Control and Meter Asset Engineering Strategy organization for Automation Strategy, Substation Projects and SC&M Test & Technology organizations in the implementation of Automation projects.
    • Represent team and participate in the Quarterly Automation Strategy Forum Discussions.

    The essentials

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

    • Two or more years of engineering experience.

    • One or more years of experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).

    The preferred

    • Two years of engineering experience related to utility industry Transmission & Distribution.

    • Working knowledge of system One-Line Diagram, Pointlists as well as AC and DC Schematics.

    • Knowledge of transmission system operation (line-and-bus arrangements, reclosing practices, etc.).

    • Knowledge of digital logic design principles (logic gates, latches, etc.).

    • Knowledge of communication systems (system redundancy, fiber, microwave, Ethernet, TDM, MPLS etc.).

    • Experience in automation related test procedures.

    • Familiarity with use of IEC 61850/GOOSE communications.

    • This position's work mode is hybrid.u202fThe employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.u202fUnless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.u202fFurther details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
