Become Quality Control Inspection Sr. Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll independently apply technical skills to identify attached assets in the communication space of jointly owned and solely owned utility pole structures.
Develop and advise on the Joint Pole Inspections standards and procedures for the third-party inspections in the communication space to ensure conformance to General Ordinances from the California Public Utilities Commission, the Southern California Joint Pole Committee standards, Joint Pole Agreements and the Request for Access Agreements. .

Coordinate and execute all activities related to inspections in a timely manner that allows for high efficiency without sacrificing safety by efficiently prioritizing and managing assignments to completion.
Ensure that all asset attachments adhering to GO95 standards, Distribution Design Standards, Electrical Service Requirements, and Construction/Maintenance standards.
Identify and report construction issues when inspecting and propose solutions/recommendations when applicable.
Coordinate and execute jobsite visits to explore opportunities for improvement with third party and SCE Project Leads when resolving field construction concerns.
Respond in a timely manner to address and resolve customer concerns related to inspection activities.
Serve as a resource to peers, crews, foremen, and supervisors by identifying potential safety hazards with work order designs during inspection activities and propose solutions to alleviate such concerns and maintaining technical knowledge and expertise needed to safely and optimally prep jobs and support IPSEC process.
Maintain a safety conscious work environment.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The essentials
Five or more years of experience performing surveillance and inspections, or civil construction, or civil engineering, or civil drafting.
Experience working with overhead design standards (e.g. G.O. 95 and construction principles)
Valid California Driver’s License
The preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Office Suite
Experience project planning
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

Position will require up to 90% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
