    Join the Clean Energy Revolution

    Become a Senior Manager, Employee Communications at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll lead a team that is dedicated to developing and delivering strategic and effective enterprise communications that inform, educate and engage our 13,000+ employees, using numerous channels/platforms. You will own responsibility for driving alignment and consistency in the company narrative through creative internal storytelling. You will build and manage an effective employee communications strategy that maximizes message alignment; ensure content is disseminated through a robust, thoughtful strategy; define and measure content impact and effectiveness through data analytics and metrics and identifying best practices; ensure comprehensive quality control over content that is developed; and manage budgets and project plans. Serve as PIO during Incident Management Team activations and after hours (including nights and weekends) on call duty.

    • Lead content development for executive communications, newsletters, company intranet, and other employee communications channels.
    • Lead the company’s annual Business Briefing for 700+ leaders across the company; this includes managing venue selection, logistics, speakers, content and content leads, graphics and visuals, and the exhibit space
    • Lead, train and develop team members by providing timely feedback, coaching and support.
    • Promote safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.

    Qualifications

    The essentials

    • Five or more years' experience managing/supervising an organization, unit or project team.
    • Five years of corporate communications experience.

    The preferred

    • Bachelors degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism or related field.
    • Experience managing, leading, driving, and measuring teams toward common goals.
    • Outstanding planner and organizer, with superior project management skills.
    • Ability to be high-level strategic problem solver; have a natural flare for keeping track of the tactical execution and details.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills – with a keen eye on detail and accuracy.
    • Strong oral communications skills, combined with sound business judgment and problem-solving skills.
    • Keen listening ear and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of the company; ensure high levels of tact and diplomacy.
    • Proven track record to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and enjoys driving things forward.
    • Ability to strategically link communications plans and activities to business outcomes and partner across the company to deliver on the work.
    • Knowledge and understanding of internal and external communications methodologies, tools, and vehicles.
    • Certification as PIO under national ICS standards preferred.
    • The position requires a forward-thinking, agile, keen sense of urgency approach to delivering work, and the ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, on multiple concurrent projects and to meet demanding deadlines.

    • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
