Responsibilities :
Review and interpret technical specifications and drawings
Create 3D models and/or 2D drawings of equipment and/or the integrated unit substation ("composites")
Coordination of mechanical and electrical connections between various manufacturing locations to form an integrated substation. Substations include medium voltage, low voltage, and transformer product lines.
Interpret company and industry codes and standards (ANSI, UL, IEC, IEEE, UBC, etc)
Provide quotation and layout assistance and be the interface between the sales force and manufacturing facilities
Review specifications and component bill of materials and facilitate required revisions with field sales and manufacturing plants
Provide detailed equipment layouts to plants and suppliers to create a value engineered product offering
Review all customer release documents and release equipment to suppliers
Be the first point of contact for after shipment resolution
Responsible for the financials on the product and will be involved from order entry, change order management, inspection, shipment, and commissioning
Coordinate with production and other support functions to resolve design questions or challenges promptly
Serve on local projects other related business transformation activities in leading change to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
Qualifications/Requirements :
Application Sr Designer - 2 Year Associate's Degree in an engineering related field is required with minimum 2 years of directly related experience or Application Engineer - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or Technical Degree
Proficiency with 2D and or 3D modeling software - AutoCAD, Creo or similar
US citizen or those who have the legal right to work in the US with no sponsorship
Aptitude and ability to succeed in a mixed office and manufacturing environment
Aptitude and ability to learn low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, and transformers
Mechanical aptitude for scope of work impacts the design of electrical power distribution equipment
