    Position summary

    Responsibilities

    • Gain a firm understanding of cloud applications and the infrastructure that hosts them, and the main customer-facing features that they provide.

    • Produce dashboards to aid the manual status monitoring of cloud applications and infrastructure.

    • Automate monitoring and alerting, ensuring all key failure modes are observed and that false alerts are minimised.

    • Work with the development teams to establish self-healing mechanisms wherever possible.

    • First-line responder in the event of alerts and other reports of potential cloud incidents, sending clear status information to stakeholders, and organising corrective action.

    • CICD Pipeline development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

    • Use scripts to automate repetitive tasks for the development teams.

    • Manage DNS and Certificate updates and expiry.

    • Collate and report on cloud costs, working with the development and finance teams to source the necessary information and forecast spending.

    What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

    Experience
    We are looking for candidates with experience in monitoring and general devops of customer-facing Azure PaaS solutions.

    Must-have skills

    • Automated monitoring and alerting using the Azure platform, ideally event hubs, functions, and web apps.

    • Azure status dashboard creation

    Nice-to-have skills

    • ADO and/or GitHub Actions, Terraform.

    • PowerShell & scripting.

    • DNS management.

    • Certificate management.

    • Advanced MS Excel

    • Good team player and communicator, able to share and able explain complex topics.

    • Takes responsibility for and proactively drives work packages to completion.

    • Passionate about technology and its application to smart home automation.
