Role Overview: We are seeking a firmware expert with over 10+ years of experience, who can contribute to the firmware activities for our multi-circuit power metering system. A new firmware team is being established in Bangalore, and the selected candidate will part of this team to drive the following activities end-to-end:
Firmware Transition and In-House Development : Lead the transition of firmware activities from our partner to in-house operations. You'll oversee collaboration and discussions with our partner to ensure seamless knowledge transfer. Post-transition, you'll drive further feature additions and enhancements to the multi-circuit meter.
Next-Generation System Development : Take charge of designing a new multi-circuit meter system from scratch, including the complete in-house development of the processor, operating system, and application. We are currently finalizing the architecture and design for this new product, and we need your passion and expertise to lead these discussions.
Areas of Responsibility:
§ Mastery of C/C++ and any RTOS (preferably VxWorks or Linux)
§ Strong system thinking skills and familiarity with metering products and complete system architecture
§ Expertise in communication protocols: TCP/IP, MODBUS, SPI, I2C, RS-485
§ Comprehensive experience in firmware/software engineering design requirements, specifications, initial designing, coding, debugging, and unit testing
§ Hands-on experience with source code control, bug tracking, and embedded firmware development best practices
§ Proficiency with debugging tools
§ Knowledge of designing and developing interrupt-driven applications using real-time operating systems
§ Understanding of networking environments and protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP)
§ Familiarity with Intel micro-controller architectures
§ Excellent interaction and collaboration skills with global stakeholders
