This role will support the portfolio companies of the Innovation at the Edge group as well as Schneider Electric's prosumer hardware business
The position requires experience in providing strategic legal advice and drafting, analyzing, and negotiating commercial agreements of varying scope and complexity including Software as a Service agreements (SaaS), construction agreements and services agreements
This is a great opportunity for an experienced commercial attorney to oversee commercial matters, work on complex transactions with high strategic importance and serve as the primary commercial legal advisor to these areas of the business
Roles & Responsibilities
Drafting, analyzing, providing advice, and negotiating a combination of specialized or complex commercial contracts of varying scope including SaaS agreements, construction agreements and services agreements
Serving as a business counsel and partner to provide strategic legal support and advice to the portfolio companies of the Innovation at the Edge group and Schneider Electric's prosumer hardware business
Working directly with internal stakeholders and customers to negotiate complex agreements in relation to products, services, software, and components to support the companies' business, product offerings and customer projects
Providing thought leadership on best-in-class contracting templates and developing of contracting best practices, clause libraries and playbooks
Providing legal advice and counsel to business leaders to ensure that their current or proposed activities, policies, business practices, and transactions comply with all relevant laws and regulations as well as company policies
Providing pre-dispute advice regarding disputes with customers

Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school in the US
Admitted to at least 1 State Bar
At least 5+ years of experience directly handling, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
Corporate transactional and commercial contracting experience
Experience in e-commerce issues
Skills & Abilities
Strong written and oral communication skills
Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once
Ability to interact directly with senior executives, commercial counterparties and external advisors, while building constructive working relationships internally and externally
Team player and ability to work in group environments
Preferences
At least 5+ years of legal experience as a transactional, corporate attorney at a top US law firm
