Data Analyst Intern III

About our group:

The Consumer Solutions Group&rsquos Product Line Manager Team carefully reviews market trends and user interaction for storage devices and value-added software. The team includes Product Managers, UX Designers, Documentation Writers/Editors and a Data Scientist. The telemetry we receive from our software is critical to all members of the team since it is highly leveraged for decision-making with current and future products.

About the role - you will:

The Data Analyst Intern will help maintain and build out the analytics capabilities for the Consumer Solutions Group. The position will collaborate with internal teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data in Amazon Web Services Redshift, Oracle and other databases. The position will also help produce reports and analyses using Looker, our business intelligence and data analytics platform.  The ideal candidate will have the basic understanding of gathering data, clean up, aggregation, analysis and insights. They should have experience with data storage, cleanup and manipulation technologies like SQL or Excel. Responsibilities could include one or more of the following:

&bull    Work with internal teams to modify existing or create new telemetry for our software products
&bull    Verify and validate the data collected from our software products using SQL
&bull    Create data visualizations or modify existing reports using Looker
&bull    Help maintain our existing data infrastructure and assist in performance improvement initiatives
&bull    Assist in improving our data collection infrastructure using Boomi &ndash our iPaas Platform (Integration Platform as a Service)
&bull    Analyze Drive Health with Machine Learning to allow Predictive Analysis to anticipate Drive Failure

Interns typically work Monday thru Friday 8am to 5pm. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the sole discretion of Seagate.

About you:

&bull    Current student pursuing a BS degree in Computer Science or Data Science and returning to school in Fall 2021 
&bull    Analytical and data driven mindset
&bull    Attention to detail and documented, repeatable processes
&bull    Knowledgeable in data storage, data cleanup and data manipulation techniques
&bull    Direct experience with SQL
&bull    Proficiency in some programming language (C, C++, Python)
&bull    Familiarity with Machine Learning / AI and Predictive Analysis
&bull    Experience with Looker, Alteryx or KNIME are a plus
