About our group:
The Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) systems organization is one of the fastest-growing teams in Seagate. Our team is responsible for planning, tracking, and coordinating engineering hardware builds for new product releases. This includes reviewing product requests, consolidating requests into a master build plan, ensuring that all materials are on hand prior to start of the build, monitoring the build process at the contract manufacturer (CM), coordinating the product deliveries to Seagate and matching spend against program and departmental budgets.
About the role - you will:
- Assist with planning, tracking and coordinating engineering hardware builds for new product releases.This will include reviewing product requests, consolidating requests into a master build plan, ensuring that all materials are on hand prior to start of the build, monitoring the build process at the contract manufacturer (CM), coordinating the product deliveries to Seagate and matching spend against program and departmental budgets.
- Create and maintain complete program build plans including schedule, communication, and risk management plans with guidance from project managers
- Maintain on-going accuracy in program build schedules, requirements, and program cost analysis
- Create, maintain, and ensure accuracy of program build and product distribution documentation on designated program share sites.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) support for engineering on vendor / component selection
- Support and assist component engineering on alternate sources and their qualifications
- Receive mentorship to work with supply base, Ops, and Commodity Management to ensure continuity of supply on NPI product launches
- Coordinate purchase requisitions for components required for engineering builds using Oracle or equivalent.
- Learn to plan, issue and track purchase orders related to EB and OB requirements through the Seagate finance system (Oracle or equivalent)
About you:
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills as you'll be collaborating and interacting with various employees
- Interested in project management in a manufacturing environment
- Excited to work in a fast-paced role
- Self-motivated and a proactive problem solver
Your experience includes:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering and enrolled in Fall 2021 courses
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Project, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Course work in supply chain and project management
You May Also Have:
- Knowledge in electrical engineering or firmware
- Experience in material procurement and logistics
