Job Description
You will be part of the ServiceNow Cloud Services Big Data Team. The Big Data team is building the next-generation platform that collects, stores and provides real-time access to large amounts of data.
What you get to do in this role:
Responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in planning, designing and developing critical and complex applications leveraging large volume of data
Hire, guide, and mentor staff career development
Drive strategic and technical discussions and prioritize solutions based on stakeholder needs
Balances time and priorities between individual contribution and management
Work closely with other teams on complex and multi legged projects
Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments, including day-to-day activities within an Agile/Scrum environment
Conduct team performance reviews
Perform architecture, design and code reviews
Collaborate with QA, DevOps and other dev teams to ensure high quality software and operational readiness.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
Experience managing and delivering multiple high-quality projects concurrently
Experience leading a team of experienced highly skilled engineers.
Experience with scrum development methodology
Expert level experience with Java, JavaScript and SQL
Experience building highly scalable solutions for real-time analysis and reporting for multi-terabyte data sets using technologies like: Impala, Hive, HBase, Spark, Kafka and Hadoop environment in general.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ideal candidate is highly motivated, self-driven and flexible
Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
12+ years of overall software development experience with 5+ years in management positions.
