Credit Specialist

About the Work

The Credit Specialist is responsible for conducting credit investigations, analyzing financial information, the initial assessment of customer credit limits, as well as subsequent analysis of credit limits on a regular basis. In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Accounts Receivable as well as the A/R and sales team, the Credit Specialist is responsible for making recommendations of credit limits and payment terms and ensuring appropriate compliance with these overtime.

In this role, you will:

• Review and Approve/Disapprove the extension of credit for all customers within the designated geographic region, in order to maintain a minimum investment in accounts receivable; and at the same time, wherever practical improve distribution of Canon products consistent with applicable state and federal laws.

• Review all new customer setups to run credit reports to establish a credit risk rating, credit limits, and payment terms.

• Review customer account setup for accuracy of risk rating, credit limits, and payment terms 

• Complete independent analysis and risk assessments for both prospective new and existing customers. 

• Use data to make recommendations to Accounts Receivable, Accounting, and Sales Leadership regarding credit terms based on report findings. 

• Participate in the structuring of credit limits. 

• Evaluate the credit risk of the commercial portfolio in performance of the Quarterly, Bi-Annual, and annual reviews of all ShiftKey accounts based on the risk category (Low, Medium, and High Risk). 

• Research applications of credit limit adjustments to assure that customer credit limit adjustments or deductions made or taken are reasonable, processed and cleared from customer's account on a timely basis.

• Keeps abreast of the status of accounts receivable to control credit extensions and to advise management of unsafe credit conditions; to provide management with consolidated reports regarding the status of credit operations.

• Identify developing problem accounts that show a deterioration in their overall credit Score within a timely manner to minimize losses to ShiftKey. 

• Take on ad hoc projects in a dynamic environment to drive to completion.

Who you are ( Minimum qualifications )

• 2+ years of credit analyst/loan review experience within B2B companies referred. 

• 2 + years of General AR experience. 

• Advanced analytical knowledge with an ability to interpret analytics and make deductions 

• on facts and circumstances. 

• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. 

• Strong time management and attention to detail. 

• Ability to work in a team environment. 

• Exercises judgment on credit analysis reviews. 

• Experience with Credit Management & Accounting tools including Creditsafe, High Radius, NetSuite, and Salesforce preferred

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

• Perform work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and appreciation for the firm’s cultural values of Love and Thunder. 

• Skilled in fostering and maintaining a collaborative professional working relationship with all team members
