We’re proud to come to work every day knowing that what we do has a direct impact on people’s lives, with our core values guiding us every step of the way. Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world.

The role:

SoFi Bank, formed in February, 2022, is the consumer banking arm of SoFi, providing all of the company’s lending and deposit products. The Bank is off to a strong start; in the first half of the year, it has successfully assumed responsibility for all of the company’s new loan originations, and ramped its new Checking and Savings products to roughly $2.5B in balances. The Bank has ambitious plans to continue to grow its services to SoFi Members, and to make strong contributions to the Company’s profitability.

The Governance and Planning Manager will play a critical role in helping the Bank continue to scale in a thoughtful, well-controlled manner. This role will be a critical organizer and driver of the Bank’s governance and management team operations, an important contributor to the Bank’s regulatory relationships, and an active participant in many of the Bank’s continuous improvement initiatives.

The Governance and Planning Manager will report to the Bank’s Head of Strategy & Operations, and work closely with the Bank’s President, General Counsel, and Board. The role will be very cross-functional, requiring active coordination across all SoFi Bank business units and functions, as well as across the broader Company. This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is organized, energetic and curious, brings a solid working knowledge of banking and the bank regulatory environment, and is eager to learn more about technology-enabled consumer finance.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide primary staff support for Bank Board operations, including planning and managing meeting agendas, coordinating the development and integration of Board meeting materials, and tracking and ensuring progress in addressing open issues emerging from Board discussions.
  • Coordinate the operation of Bank management committees, ensuring centralized visibility and alignment with their agendas, policies, and actions (management committees have their own functional staffs to run their meetings, but your role will be to help ensure the committees are collectively addressing required topics, and that we have centralized tracking of Bank policies and management actions).
  • Work with the Bank senior leadership team to support its ongoing regulatory relationships, primarily with the OCC. This includes contributing to exam management as well as continuous monitoring activities.
  • Work with the Finance team, and with business units and functions across the company, to contribute to annual planning.
  • Take a lead role, as time and your expertise permits, in driving the Bank’s approach to addressing continuous improvement opportunities. These could include processes or programs we wish to strengthen, ensuring the effective roll-out of new customer features, or analyzing market opportunities.

What you’ll need:

  • Superior organizational and communication skills (“communication” includes writing and document development as well as the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the Company)
  • A sound basic knowledge of banking and the bank regulatory environment, including at least 3 years working for a regulated bank, or for a consulting firm serving regulated banks.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in total
  • Substantive experience providing staff support to senior executives and/or Board members.
  • High energy and a commitment to continuous learning and development
  • An ability to operate in a highly regulated environment that is also innovative, growth-oriented, and “tech forward”
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

Nice to have:

  • Experience in providing support to a Bank Board
  • Experience in working directly with the OCC and/or the Federal Reserve
  • Detailed knowledge of bank regulations

Why you’ll love working here:

  • Competitive salary packages and bonuses
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits
  • Generous vacation and holidays
  • Paid parental leave for eligible employees
  • 401(k) and education on retirement planning
  • Tuition reimbursement on approved programs
  • Monthly contribution up to $200 to help you pay off your student loans
  • Great health & well-being benefits including: telehealth parental support, subsidized gym program
*These benefits are only applicable to full time employees
