Generate daily hand off report for any necessary repairs during the AM shift.
Trouble shoot all automation equipment failures including automation software, carton erectors/carton sealers, Flow turn, conveyor spirals, palletizer, transport shuttles, and label applicators.
Lead all mechanical help desk calls when all attempts to repair equipment have failed.
Performs equipment walk around and inspects and adjusts equipment.
Maintain supply levels for all cartons, lids, glue, bags, and labels.
Understanding of lock out tag out standards and follow in accordance with while performing daily functions of the job.
Safely isolate equipment to perform repairs and maintenance; work at heights within the automation aisles in a safe manner.
Responsible for all tasks related to predictive and preventative maintenance programs
Repair and maintain all conveyor machinery and equipment; repair or replacement of motors, gear reducers, couplings, variable frequency drives, pulleys, idlers, brakes, structure, belting, cleaners, take up systems, transfer points, dust control systems, lubrication and machine health as needed.
Performs equipment repairs, changes out parts, checks the status of equipment availability with automation manager, and follows procedures and locate parts and supplies from the spare parts area.
Maintenance of all machinery and equipment such as compressors, and pumps; repair or replacement of control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, and ECC devices as needed.
Review data and identify trends that can help increase efficiencies and/or improve processes.
What you will bring:
In depth knowledge from hydraulics, pneumatics, shuttle, and machine repairs.
Ability to work under time sensitive and stressful environments.
Experience performing emergency repairs in a production environment
Troubleshooting and analytical skills to make quick and responsive repairs
Familiarity with assigning work order(s) and preventative maintenance repairs in Sprocket or similar software(s)
Ability to organize mechanical work and lead mechanical level II associates
Comfort with the use of computers.
Ability to learn a variety of software systems.
Attention to detail and good time management skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to exercise safety while carrying out all job responsibilities.
Initiative and eagerness to learn cutting-edge warehouse technology.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment.
The ability to stand and walk for the full length of the assigned shift, which is typically 8-12 hours
The ability to lift, push, and pull material and objects weighing up to 75lbs.
The ability to safely operate power tools
The ability to work in confined spaces that may require leaning, crawling, and working in a prone position.
The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb steps, stairs, and ladders
The ability to work on a 2nd floor open mezzanine.
This job is performed in a large distribution center warehouse environment, which can have fluctuating temperatures.
Although training is provided, the ideal candidate will be eager to learn warehouse automation, and have the drive to meet production requirements.
Location: Cranbury, NJ
Work Hours: Monday- Friday 3:30 pm start. This is a standard 40 hour work week, but overtime is frequently required.
Salary Range: $35-$41/hr. The hourly rate is dependent upon applicable experience.
