DOD SkillBridge Opportunity in Jonesboro, AR – Fiber Testing Technician

Irby Utilities proudly supplies America’s infrastructure as a top distributor of products, tools, and solutions to electric, natural gas, and broadband utilities.
Our Military Link Program (MLP) integrates DOD SkillBridge Service Members within Irby Utilities for a 12-week internship where you will learn the fundamentals of the role and broader context of our branch team and responsibilities. This opportunity will introduce you further to our customer base and provide a solid foundation from which you can add value and establish a rapport with key stakeholders.
This particular MLP links to the role of Fiber Testing Tech. Associates are trained to inspect and test reels of fiber for our various Utility Customers throughout the US. The position is full-time, requiring the ability to stand and move about the testing facility most of the day. Daily tasks will include the responsibilities of inventorying, cleaning, inspecting, and testing reels of fiber. Exceptional attention to detail is a must.
Responsibilities further include:
Document and maintain testing records and job site notes
Responsible for complying with company safety standards
What we are looking for in a qualified candidate:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
