Wire Cutter
Location: Katy, TX
Job Type: Full Time
What You'll Do
As a wire cutter, you'll coil, spool, cut and label wire for customer orders using wire cutting machinery. You'll work in a warehouse with a supportive team, and if you've never cut wire before, we can offer on-the-job training. Measuring and cutting wire is repetitive, so if you like getting into a rhythm, this job is you. Attention to detail, math skills, and the ability to stand for the majority of your shift and lift or pull heavy objects will help you be successful in this role.
You will:
Review customer orders and determine the right size reel and right type, size and color of wire needed to complete the order
Measure and cut wire using machinery
Unload empty reels and reload new reels onto wire machine
Restock and replenish wire inventory
Follow standard operating procedures and safety regulations
What You Bring
Requirements:
Ability to lift, push and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. on regular basis or up to 70 lbs. with supportive equipment
Math skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide in different units of measure, including fractions and decimals, using a calculator
High attention to detail
Ability to stand and walk for the full length of your shift
Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred, but not required:
1-2 years of experience with wire cutting machinery
Experience and current certification for PIT vehicles (known as forklifts)
Basic English communication skills
