Horizontal Directional Driller

At Spectrum, we ensure the delivery of our internet services to more than 32 million customers nationwide. As a Horizontal Directional Driller, you will be responsible for running Vermeer horizontal directional drill rigs and equipment supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project. You will also be working directly with the Horizontal Directional Locator for guidance during drilling operations. Your role will help grow Charter's expanding network and connect new customers to our communications products and services.

It is important that you have strong communication and leadership skills while in this role. By leading your team in the field efficiently and effectively, your work will ensure that our customers have access to Spectrum's growing network.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

Experience: Horizontal drilling experience of at least two years
Education: High school diploma or GED
Technical Skills: Able to operate relevant equipment in a safe manner
Able to ensure the safety of the public and your construction team
Abilities: Able to direct a team of construction workers
Physically able to bend, twist, squat, etc.
Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills
Schedule: Hours will be determined as business needs dictate

Preferred Qualifications

OSHA safety certifications, operator certifications, Class A or B CDL, valid driver's license and clean driving record
Horizontal drilling experience of five years or more
Practical working experience with underground construction and equipment for both conduit and fiber installation
