JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to install and perform routine troubleshooting of TWC products and services such as cable television, high-speed internet service, digital phone service, intelligent home security service and wireless service.
The Road Runner designation applies to those Installers who have completed applicable training.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Performs all duties of the Installer such as: connects, reconnects, service changes and disconnects cable television, high-speed internet service, digital phone service, intelligent home security service and wireless service.
May perform upgrades, downgrades, pre-wiring and multiple dwelling installations, and special request orders (SRO).
Applies basic knowledge of electronics, installation techniques and repairs.
Applies working knowledge and demonstrates proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment.
Utilizes equipment and tools proficiently.
These include but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers, ladders, drills, shovels, and various test meters.
Applies basic knowledge of computers for installation and repair of high-speed data.
Troubleshoots, maintains, services, and resolves the problems back to the line tap.
Able to solve technical problems with customers and technicians by using effective verbal communications.
Applies working knowledge and demonstrates proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment such as Unified, Rio, and other web-based tools to troubleshoot service/technical issues.
Utilizes equipment and tools.
These include but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers, ladders, drills, shovels, and various test meters such as DSAM meter, signal level meters, QAM sniffer and multi-meter.
Applies basic knowledge of WiFi signal including RSSI levels, SNR, utilization, optimization techniques and limitations to resolve WiFi issues.
CLI testing and upstream noise repairs, checks tap levels for signal quality and handles routine repair.
Applies working knowledge of OSHA, FCC, and TWC regulations and specifications.
Applies working knowledge and demonstrate proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment.
Understands field operations KPI and strives to achieve KPI goals set by the Company.
Maintains and stocks necessary materials and tools for the company vehicle.
Able to organize materials, tools and equipment.
Able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
Recognizes, practices, and complies with all safety rules and procedures per Company policy and federal/state regulations.
Communicates all unsafe acts, conditions, incidents, accidents, and injuries both verbally and in writing to their immediate supervisor, field management and/or Human Resources in a timely manner.
Applies working knowledge of safety rules and company policies to ensure safety compliance.
Able to operate all equipment in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Able to work in constricted spaces and positions involving crouching, squatting and/or kneeling.
Ability to climb up and down ladders.
Regular attendance is required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at a very high level
Driving, lifting and carrying equipment, climbing, demonstrated proficiency in the use of various tools and equipment and use of radio.
Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and good mechanical aptitude. Thorough knowledge of electronics, installation techniques, use of various tools and equipment and familiarity of OSHA, FCC and ATC regulations and specifications.
Able to organize materials, tools and equipment and to train and advise entry level installers.
Able to solve and repair technical problems with customers and technicians through effective communications.
Must have a valid Hawaii driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE Number of Years
May train and advise entry-level installers on more difficult technical problems and checks completed work.
Utilizes clear and concise verbal communication when training/advising.
May sell additional services and/or products to subscribers.
Utilizes verbal, written and interpersonal communication to sell services and products.
Utilizes working knowledge of cable products, programming choices and prices.
Prior experience as a cable installer preferred.
Previous electronic experience or course work and customer service experience preferred.
Stable employment history.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Company vehicle (with valid Hawaii driver’s license), various size tools (these include but are not limited to: screwdrivers, pliers, shovels, ladders, various test meters, etc.), radio and may operate company bucket truck.
Lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, digging, crawling and stooping.
Climbing on ladders.
May be assigned to gaff utility poles.
Must be under the maximum bodyweight limit to meet ladder requirements in accordance with Company’s and manufacturer’s specifications.
Works outside throughout the year.
Works in various weather and conditions which could be extreme hot or cold conditions.
May drive for long periods of time.
