    Position summary

    JOB SUMMARY
    This position is responsible for the development of sustainable OLAP reporting solutions to help the Fraud Protection Team run their organization and maximize the utility of Charter’s data assets. The Lead App Developer will have a complete understanding of how to leverage the MicroStrategy toolset to build sustainable solutions that are easily consumable information at the reporting layer and maintain a level of expertise on how that information is used in the organization to design, develop, implement, enhance, and support such solutions.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Gather, refine and validate complex business requirements, interdependencies, potential risks and issues

    Transform business requirements into sustainable reporting solutions through the construction of MicroStrategy reports and dashboards

    Understand MicroStrategy architecture and how the tool interacts with the data warehouse model

    Successfully extend reporting architecture as new areas of functionality are introduced to the warehouse in a sustainable and supportable way

    Tune reporting strategy for quick access to information through efficient SQL generation or cubing/caching strategy.

    Write SQL scripts against SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, etc to support analysis, discovery, and testing of reports

    Understand the fundamentals of a dimensional data warehouse model and how to optimize the way data is organized for consumption in MicroStrategy.

    Analyze complex business partners’ operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes, functions, and systems

    Assess available technologies to create development specifications

    Provide in-depth technical expertise in identifying, evaluating and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective
    and meet user requirements

    Consult with management and users to determine the needs of the system

    Look for opportunities to improve internal processes, and implement measures to control risks within the business applications framework

    Perform other responsibilities as requested

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
    Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

    Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities
    Ability to analyze and interpret data
    Ability to quickly identify business problems/opportunities

    Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
    Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
    Ability to lead projects
    Solid understanding of PL/SQL programming language
    Expert knowledge of MicroStrategy Report, Document, and Dossier Development
    Expert knowledge of MicroStrategy Architecture
    Expert knowledge of MicroStrategy Transaction Services
    Expert knowledge of MicroStrategy Administration and server configuration
    Expert knowledge of Windows operating systems
    Required Education
    Business Systems or IT related experience - 5+
