Principal Engineer I

evelopment tools and languages such as Python, Java, Shell-Bash, and YAML to develop automated applications, business workflows, and procedures for operational efficiency. Perform data troubleshooting and monitoring using Cribl, Splunk, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana, and AWS tools for telemetry data modelling, analysis, verification, alerts, and dashboard creation. Utilize ELK Stack, Datadog, and AWS CloudWatch to analyze, model, and predict system performance under different operating conditions. Complete hardware and software maintenance and upgrades, including installing hardware or application software, installation of network software, and installation of computer hardware using CI-CD tools GIT and Jenkins on different Linux servers, such as CentOS and RHEL. Establish best practice standards focused on security, operational efficiency, resiliency, application and scalability requirements, design constraints, and data logging utilizing Jira and Chalk-Confluence. Evaluate capacity and size estimation to determine time, cost, and resource requirements for execution of projects. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding systems architecture design and maintenance. Facilitate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Collaborate with engineers in various departments to troubleshoot, debug issues with applications, servers and components, and to solve network, software, and hardware related issues. Mentor senior technical staff. Prepare reports for company leadership regarding project conception, design, product specifications, and resources. Hybrid office and remote arrangement is available.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience with OS installation, configuration, and management on Linux servers such as CentOS or RHEL. Must have 2 years of experience leveraging AWS public cloud to set up hybrid infrastructure to support applications, web and database servers, and storage; using CI-CD tools for automation, faster and efficient code deployments, and ad-hoc activities including use of Jenkins and GitLab; utilizing scripting languages and configuration management tools for development and systems engineering of servers and processes to maintain consistency and performance, including use of Python, Shell, Ansible or Terraform; leveraging containers for independent scaling of architecture design applications to reduce resource costs; and using microservices based architecture for speed and improving developer productivity.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $152,069 per year.

The pay for this position has a salary range of $152,https://069.00 to $196,https://400.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
