TITLE: Principal Wireless Engineer I

JOB SUMMARY: Research, design, test, support, and document policy control systems and related technologies in support of Charter Communications’ Fixed Wireless, Wi-Fi, and Mobile Wireless networks. Document Engineering Design Documents, Data Flow Diagrams, Call Flow Diagrams, Implementation Guides, Operations Guides, Method of Procedures, Technical Bulletins, Test Plans, and Test results. Test and certify policy control systems and related technologies for features, compatibility, interoperability, function, and capacity. Troubleshoot policy control systems and related technologies in lab and as necessary to support operations. Research wireless policy control systems, 3GPP specifications for mobile core, and 3GPP specifications for IMS core. Stay conversant with advancements in wireless industry, especially as related to policy control systems. Use knowledge of 3GPP specifications and wireless policy control systems to design, develop, and enhance the Charter Communications wireless policy control systems; test the Charter Communications wireless policy control systems for features, functionality, capacity, and redundancy; and provide next level support for the Charter Communications wireless policy control systems. Create technical documentation for all research findings and create engineering documentation for the Charter Communications wireless policy control systems. Serve as a mentor and provide training for other Engineers and teammates. Provide status reports to leadership regarding the Charter wireless policy control systems. Perform integration, administration, and configuration of wireless Policy Control Systems. Read, understand, and interpret 3GPP specifications, concepts, and protocols related to Packet Core, and IMS. Work with 3GPP IP multimedia subsystem components or
relevant Mobile Circuit Switched Core Networks to provide voice or video communications over mobile 2G, 3G, 4G, or 5G networks. Create technical documentation, including at least two of the following: Method of Procedure (MOP), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), technical reports, design diagrams, call-flow diagrams, network diagrams, design documentation, implementation guides, operations guides, or test plans.
EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience working with wireless Policy Control Systems, including performing system integration, administration, configuration, or troubleshooting; reading, understanding, and interpreting 3GPP specifications, concepts, and protocols related to Packet Core, and IMS; working with 3GPP IP multimedia subsystem components or relevant Mobile Circuit Switched Core Networks to provide voice or video communications over mobile 2G, 3G, 4G, or 5G networks; creating technical documentation, including at least two of the following: Method of Procedure (MOP), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), technical reports, design diagrams, call-flow diagrams, network diagrams, design documentation, implementation guides, operations guides, or test plans.

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location.
