    Position summary

    tential security threats and vulnerabilities to the company's telecommunications data and database security. Works closely with network engineering and technical operations staff as security threats and support vulnerabilities are detected and coordinates the response to contain and mitigate the threat to Charter's network.

    • Designing, implementing, and maintaining database security controls.

    • Performing database security assessments and vulnerability scanning.

    • Developing and implementing data protection policies and procedures.

    • Monitoring database systems for security threats and incidents.

    • Participating in incident response activities.

    • Staying current on database security best practices and emerging threats.

    WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience:
      • IT/network - 5+ years
      • Information security - 5+ years
      • Information security operations - 3+ years
      • Demonstrated experience in handling information security events and incidents for large and sophisticated networks
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
    • Technical Skills:
      • Expert knowledge of network and system security vulnerabilities and exploits
      • Demonstrated understanding of what is required to prevent security exploits, how to detect security attacks and anomalies and how to respond to security incidents and intrusions
      • Knowledge of forensic methodologies and best practices to investigate intrusions, preserve evidence and coordinate a unified security response
      • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to work across functional boundaries, build consensus and drive results
    • Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills and should have good presentation skills
    • Abilities:
      • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
      • Ability to effectively solve problems, balance competing priorities and manage through complexity and rapid change
    • Schedule:
      • Full time

      • Office Environment

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.

    • Advanced security certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or similar.

    • Expertise in database security and data loss prevention techniques.

    • 3-5 years of experience working with Linux operating systems.

    • 3-5 years of experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
