TITLE: Senior Application Admin
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC
JOB SUMMARY: Install, configure, upgrade, and administer ETL tools such as Talend, Informatica, TIBCO Data Virtualization, and IBM Infosphere Data Replication. Perform proactive monitoring and provide technical assistance. Leverage understanding of information technology landscapes such as infrastructure, client, server, Linux operating system, storage, network, firewall, Big Data platform, Hadoop utilities, and Database connectivity. Ensure consistent, reliable uptime while looking for efficiencies and ways to increase the system and environment performance. Set up secure file transfer protocol (sFTP) and network attached storage (NAS) for data exchange. Open firewalls, establish database connections for Oracle, SQL Server, and Teradata, ranger policies, and set up ODBC connections. Install client, drivers, and utilities including Teradata (TD), MS SQL Server, TD/Oracle Wallet, TDCH, Oracle connector for Hadoop, and GPG. Analyze application related problems and coordinate with multiple in-house and vendor teams to diagnose and resolve incidents and problems for the production application in accordance with identified Service Level Agreements. Participate in continuous performance improvement sessions to review and discuss opportunities to improve processes, standards, and application efficiencies. Engage with vendors on application outage escalations, application upgrade support, application performance, and support case monitoring. Assist with Monthly Operational Reporting to senior management. Oversee user access and enhance security and performance. Upgrade systems and processes and maintain documentation on application configuration. Utilize Hadoop, including HDP edge nodes, firewall management, and utilities to setup data integration software, and connectivity to sources and targets. Utilize Linux, including O/S navigation to install 3rd party vendor software, shell scripting, and manage users Access Control Lists. Perform job scheduling and orchestration. Use Oracle, Teradata, and MS-SQL databases, install vendor software, and establish source and target connections. Use Standard Query Language (SQL) to query data
