BE PART OF THE CONNECTION

As a Senior App Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for the product lifecycle and development of security initiatives for our Charter services and applications. Designs cross-functional requirements to meet evolving customer needs and business opportunities. Supports the architecture of innovative solutions to deliver an industry-leading customer experience. This position has a mix of technical and business skills, and will often support an enterprise architect as they set strategic direction for the system.

WHAT OUR SENIOR APP SECURITY ENGINEERS ENJOY MOST

  • Bring knowledge of security best practices in product development and translate appropriate steps for unique organization and market position.

  • Track trends and technological innovations in the security industry to continually strengthen Charter's stance against cybersecurity threats and theft of service.

  • Support application security initiatives through research, business case development, scoping, and all phases of the product development lifecycle.

  • Work with key stakeholders to help them understand proper security development, hardening of systems, code scanning and vulnerability assessment and management.

  • Understand digital best practices in accessibility, usability, requirement writing, agile development, software product management, web analytics and product lifecycle management.

  • Support the definition of policies and procedures to minimize intrusions, malware events and vulnerability issues.

  • Diagnose issue, evaluate, recommend, and execute the best resolution.

  • Contribute ideas to improve Charter's product set and advocate for excellence in all areas.

  • Analyze proposed features and enhancements from the perspective of the digital user experience and support decisions that are in the best interest of the consumer.

  • Develop and communicate product strategies dependent on new services/features to drive financial results.

  • Work with key stakeholders in security, product, marketing and customer operations to implement strategy.

  • Manage compliance with security standards, policies and procedures.

  • Provide a data-centric perspective, using data as the driver and influencer of priority and measurements of success.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Software security architect experience 6+ years
    • Product development/management 3 years
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Technical skills:
    • Experience protecting against security vulnerabilities including the OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25
    • Familiarity with authentication and authorization technologies, including SAML and OAuth
    • Knowledge of ethical hacking and exploitation
    • Foundation in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Knowledge of digital SDLC tools such as JIRA
  • Abilities:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven coding and web development experience (Python, JavaScript, RESTful API, HTML5/CSS/JSON/XML).

  • Prior experience with security orchestration and automation tools as well as integrations with other enterprise grade security toolsets.

  • Direct experience with enterprise application engineering and operational support

  • Proven testing and debugging development code

  • Ability to develop and maintain technical documents such as MOPs, design/layout and architectural diagrams.

  • Ability to prioritize efforts and can translate internal customers' needs into actionable requirements for successful application development.
