    JOB SUMMARY
    As the director of the Design Systems program, you will set the vision and structure for both Charter's global design system (Kite) and the team that maintains it. You will consult with our 60+ consumers, the team, and the design systems domain to guide that vision. You will help develop and prioritize the roadmaps of our 9+ products, projects, and how the team handles support work. You will consider how the system scales and accommodates localized systems. You will mentor your team leads and empower and promote the professional growth of all members of the team.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

    Lead an innovative and collaborative team to produce and maintain versioned standards, specifications, and tooling for the creation of exceptional digital products.

    Structure and guide the design systems program through strong vision and strategies derived from design systems knowledge, relationships, and consumer feedback.

    Foster new consumer engagement with the system at the program level.

    Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

    Achieve KPIs for products and initiatives and establish and measure performance targets for management of team.

    Develop and drive an effective leadership team and support them with developing their direct reports to drive a high performance culture.

    Mentor and guide team members to help gain confidence and experience with communication, leadership and collaboration skills, enabling growth and advancement in their careers.

    Evaluate, in conjunction with all levels of leadership, design tooling solutions, product design best practices and consistency align to design system guidelines.

    Provide strategic direction and leadership for development of new products, technologies, and initiatives, as well as existing technologies and current operational initiatives

    Review selections on bids for contracted projects, and provide recommendations as necessary.

    Accountable for the capital budget process and execution of approved budget plan.

    Direct contractors and consultant organizations supporting the delivery of technology projects.

    Champion efficient, high-quality design delivery specific to consuming teams.

    Instill and reinforce design for the diversity, uniqueness and, in some cases, disabilities of our customers.

    Perform other duties as requested.

    • Deep understanding of development processes
    • Extensive experience with research-driven, iterative product design

    Required Education
    Bachelor's degree in Design / HCI / Related Field, or equivalent real-world experience

    Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
    UX/UI or Product Design management experience - 10+

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
