    The Legal Operations Manager will craft, develop, and lead legal operations across the company and its subsidiaries and affiliates. This role will include legal technology and business process improvement and management, legal compliance management and operations, corporate governance management, and other areas of legal operations.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Legal Technology and Process Improvement

    • Identify and recommend organizational and operational process improvement, workflows, and automation opportunities to meet the growth trends and operating needs of the legal organization.
    • Evaluate, implement, and train staff on software tools and other legal department technology solutions to support the legal department's operations (e.g., contract management, corporate governance systems, e-discovery, e-billing, knowledge management).
    • Prepare, supervise and track legal department objectives. Build metrics and trends on key data points aligned to the Legal team's key objectives and strategic plan, as well as overall department effectiveness and efficiency
    • Build and conduct training for legal resources and internal business partners on legal processes and policies

    Business Process Management and Operations

    • Develop and lead a global contracting approach for vendors and customers in coordination with inside counsel, information security, sales, and finance to improve efficiency and accelerate the sales process
    • Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and run customer lifecycle management system vision and strategy, including contract workflow and systems that provide critical business intelligence to the organization
    • Establish, update, and maintain global contract templates and policies to be used by the legal team and for empowered use by the business
    • Develop and handle performance and success metrics associated with the contracting process
    • Support merger and acquisition activity, including buy-side and sell-side due diligence and integration planning
    • Liaise with finance team to support financial audits, tax analyses and other finance and accounting activities that require legal input

    Corporate Governance

    • Handle corporate governance documents, including formation, dissolution, conversion, drafting of governance documents, and maintenance of minute books.
    • Assist with the preparation and organization of detailed records in support of board and board committee meetings and activities, including being responsible for the board portal.

    Required Experience & Qualifications

    • 5+ years in a corporate legal function role, including 3 or more years of corporate legal operations experience, either as a corporate legal operations specialist or manager driving legal operations functions
    • Experience with legal operations technology, including board portal and enterprise governance management, contracts management, matter and billing management, or similar technology
    • Proficiency in process design and documentation
    • Proactive and results focused individual with strong attention to detail.
    • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and similar tools

    Preferred Experience & Qualifications

    • Experience in a legal operations, paralegal or similar position with SaaS or cloud technology company
    • Experience in EdTech
    • Experience with mergers and acquisitions
    • Experience with a public company or an IPO

    Salary Range: $85,000 - $131,800  

    This range is based on national market data and may vary by experience and location.
