C/C++ and Windows (preferably MFC) - Senior Software Engineer / Developer - (Hybrid - EMEA)

As an experienced Software Engineer you will join our Siemens engineering team and develop and maintain software products used by electrical engineers in the design and simulation of high-speed printed circuit boards. This position is a role in an international team, so it doesn't matter where in EMEA you live. You can work from home or from the nearest Siemens office. Your responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, modify, and improve product software with a focus on surpassing customer expectations and achieving high quality and timely delivery
• Self-test delivered code to achieve high initial quality; work with the quality-assurance team to enable further testing and robusting
• Use Agile methods to report and supervise project progress to management
• Find creative solutions to sophisticated problems; work successfully with existing code, refactoring or re-architecting as needed
• Work cooperatively on a team, but also on individual projects with latitude for independent judgment and technical contribution
• Write functional specifications and design documentation
• Participate in reviews and inspections of designs, specifications, and code

Job Qualifications:

• MS in Software Engineering or Computer Science, or related field/experience
• Extensive practical experience in software development is required
• English language skills (intermediate) are required
• Experience participating in team-oriented projects is preferable
• Background/experience in EDA (electronic design automation) or CAD/CAM is a plus, but not required

Technical Skills:

• Deep understanding of software-development basics, including algorithms and data structures, OOD/OOP, and design patterns
• Practical knowledge of C++ language, Microsoft Visual Studio, MFC, ATL, STL is important
• Experience with OpenGL or BCG and Stingray toolkits is a plus
• Practical knowledge of scripting languages, especially Python, is a plus
• Some experience with source control and bug-tracking tools is required
• Linux experience is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills are required
• Technical writing skills (requirements, functional specifications) are a plus
