Principal Engineer

formation to simulate the power grid of IC and package d) electromigration analysis of power and signal nets. mPower product is used for analysis of both digital and analog designs. Development responsibilities will span different software components including computation engines, application software, APIs, and utilities, with emphasis on advanced technology node modeling for meeting semiconductor foundry requirements. You will collaborate with a senior group of software engineers on the production-level quality of new components and algorithms and support existing product capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• With prior knowledge of having worked in a related area, lead overall software architecture and development in various product areas.

• Enhance performance and capacity of linear solver to handle larger designs with 100+B nodes and usage of linear solver for development of various product features.

• Promote innovation through the ability to introduce new technology/knowledge into at least one area of product and to our people.

• Work without supervision on highly complex projects with complete latitude for independent judgment and technical expertise.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Scientific Computing, or related discipline, from an accredited institution.

• 10+ years of practical (scientific computing, simulation, ML) software development experience on projects that required numerical linear algebra and data structures/algorithms for high-volume data analysis, simulation, optimization and computing.

• Excellent programming (C++), and software engineering skills.

• Strong team player with solid interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

• Strong ability and interest to learn, explore, and apply new technologies in the domains of software engineering, computer science, and numerical mathematics

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Self-motivation, self-discipline, and the ability to set and work consistently toward personal goals

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• 10+ years of EDA software development and/or professional user experience, ideally in power and signal net analysis area

• Deep knowledge of semiconductor processes, advanced technology nodes for electrical analysis, and motivation to stay current with advanced node developments from leading semiconductor foundries.

• Multi-physics background, e.g. EM, thermal, stress analysis

• Experience with large software development projects (code reviews, version management, unit tests, static/dynamic code checkers).

• Experience with multi-threaded, distributed, and high-performance computing.

• Strong expertise with linear solvers capable of handling multi-Billion nodes

• IC CAD experience (Digital design implementation flows (synthesis, place and route), DRC, LVS, extraction, simulation).

• Experience with UNIX and/or LINUX platforms.

The salary range for this position is $145,700 to $262,300 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
