JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
As AES strives to become the customer first, digital focused, clean energy provider of the future; the success of our customer experience platforms, applications, and programs become critical to our strategic success. The successful Business Reporting Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the execution and deployment of these tools by partnering directly with our local and global digital teams, business stakeholders, and strategic partners to ensure our vision is translated to customer outcomes.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Reporting and Analytics functional execution team within the AES Customer Ecosystem (ACE) project. Phase one of the ACE project includes replacement of the legacy Customer Information Systems and reporting platforms at AES Ohio and AES Indiana with a common platform consisting of the SAP Industry Specific Solution – Utilities (IS-U), Google BigQuery and PowerBI products. You will meet with business stakeholders to define the business requirements, design datasets, build reports, perform ad-hoc analysis, and prioritize projects based on business value and need.
Gather business requirements and develop reports and dashboards for internal business partners
Understand and apply various data structures and common methods in data transformation
Communicate requirements and project progress to business leaders clearly and concisely
Provide insights through data visualizations
Collaborate with business stakeholders, digital partners, external advisors, and developers to successfully deliver the critical “day one” US business reporting scope on time and within budget
Mentor fellow team members on Business Intelligence techniques and code
Participate in the development, deployment and maintenance of data models
Assist in prioritizing reports backlog and help to develop policies and procedures for the ongoing collection and analysis of data
Bachelor's degree in business information systems, computer science, statistics or other related field
Must have at least two (2) years of practical experience using Power BI, DAX, SQL or data analytics
Excellent verbal and written communication skills proven by ability to document business requirements
Analytic and detail-oriented
Ability to build analytical content (reports, dashboards and ad-hoc reporting) using Power BI
Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines
Ability to take ownership of several projects simultaneously
Ability to collaborate well with various stakeholders and teams (customer service, digital, metering, regulatory, etc.)
Ability to challenge yourself and learn new skills
Two (2) years or more experience in implementing and/or supporting SAP IS-U solutions preferably on SAP S/4HANA
Knowledge of common customer service and meter-to-cash processes at an investor-owned electric utility
Solid understanding of Google BigQuery – Jupiter, Dremel, Colossus & Borg - including schema design, partitioning/clustering tables for query optimization, data transfers and scheduled queries
Ability to build and/or support a scalable data analytics platform with Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture and modeling
Technical understanding of SAP IS-U or similar CIS system(s)
Forward looking with the ability to quickly adapt to changing business needs
Understanding of applicable Indiana and Ohio regulations and tariffs and how these relate to our business
