Control Room Operators at AES Southland. AES Southland includes AES Alamitos, AES Huntington Beach and AES Redondo Beach. The three stations have five natural gas fired Drum units and two Super-Critical Once Thru Boiler Units.
Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a power plant
10 years previous power plant Operations experience required
3-5 years previous control room operator experience required
Super-Critical Once Thru Experience is preferred
Water Chemistry experience is required
Ovation DCS experience is a plus
Strong technical and troubleshooting knowledge required
Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision
Must be able to Work in a Team environment
Work Rotating 12 hr. shifts and /or irregular hours as needed.
Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Strong belief in AES Culture and Values
Computer proficiency required
Must currently be eligible to work in the U.S.A.
