The ETRM Regional Lead shall be responsible for overseeing the correct operation of the ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management, Allegro) platform for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean (MCAC). This role must interact with several teams across the organization to guarantee a successful performance, specifically with operations, commercial (back, middle, front office), risk management, digital, and corporate headquarters.
This position supports the value chain of the business (Power and Fuel) at a portfolio level, monitoring business performance, improving reporting processes, and identifying market opportunities to optimize the variable margin.
Strong willingness to learn and support complex business processes and system requirements related to commodities management in an ETRM.
Supports business users with ETRM system knowledge around critical processes such as price structuring, deal capturing, interfacing, inventory management, monthly closing, and invoicing.
As the subject matter expert for ETRM systems you will participate in the implementation process including system configuration, delivery of customized training, and ongoing support to end-users, while also ensuring successful system adoption.
Ensures ETRM is updated in a timely manner.
Develops a reporting structure containing detailed information about MCAC’s variable margin, physical and financial positions, that helps senior leaders in the decision-making process.
Keeps tracking of commercial transactions (Power & Fuel) prior and after entering the book.
Leads the interaction between commercial and digital areas for the implementation or improvement of the ETRM ecosystem.
Optimizes together with the Term Trading, Risk, and Analytics teams the short-term position of the portfolio, structuring new deals or executing hedging strategies, etc.
Collaborates with the MCAC Fuel Team in the procurement and logistic processes.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or others related.
Spanish fluently (oral and written)
English fluently (oral and written)
Strong digital capabilities, able to manipulate and extract insights from large amount of data
Programming skills is highly preferable (Python, Visual Basic, other).
Analytically oriented with excellent modeling skills, and experience in commodity transactions.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Confident and mature worker, capable of making real-time decisions that may affect other areas.
Strong organizational skills, able to work with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
2+ years of ETRM systems experience (Allegro, ENDUR, Symphony, other)
2+ years industry experience in energy supply, trading, and/or risk management
Previous experience in a complex regulatory environment within immature / emerging markets.
Experience working along commercial, or risk management groups would be an asset
