The Market Development Director is a member of the strategic innovation team responsible for envisioning and catalyzing the future electrical grid while also delivering near-term value to AES’ renewable portfolio and developing new business models. These outcomes require a dynamic team that is highly adaptable to new information and challenges, embodying AES’ thought leadership through agility, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Decarbonization requires bold action and compelling narratives mobilized equally by data and emotional intelligence.
The Market Development Director has a strong understanding of the US electrical grid and has established connections in the industry, able to influence and build trust-based, valuable relationships. As a change agent, you are an effective listener who empathizes with the challenges of others, crafting messages that create shared outcomes. You do not accept the status quo without question and politely challenge the thinking of others. You have internalized AES’ vision for a future grid and create opportunities to drive that vision forward, taking responsibility for market transformation and consistently pursuing change.
