About Core Ops Corporate Actions, Analysts:
As a Core Ops Analyst, you will perform complex preparation, and serve as a primary reviewer of the team's responsibilities and deliverables across various levels of complexity. You will apply experience and judgement to analyze unexpected variances, identify the appropriate course of action, determine who should be involved in resolving the issue, and implementing solutions. You will play a key role in training and developing other team members and collaborates across stakeholders to determine the appropriate course of action. You are expected to demonstrate a growth mindset and proactively identify, recommend, and implement ideas for continuous improvement with oversight from management. You may lead small to moderately sized internal or external projects.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the team's activities and obtains guidance from management, as needed. Serves as primary reviewer or the team's deliverables and may prepare more complex responsibilities. Mitigates risks. Applies knowledge, experience, sound judgement, and business acumen, to analyze, assess, recommend, and implement solutions in a timely manner with oversight from management, as necessary. Operates as a technical subject matter expert for their area and serves as key trainer and developer of other team members including providing feedback to others on the quality of their work product. Collaborates with other Investment Operations departments, and internal and external stakeholders, which could include vendors, custodian banks, traders, members of the Investment Group or Distribution teams to diagnose and resolve issues. Directly engages the Investment Group and Trading to strengthen working relationships, anticipates needs, and offers solutions. Acts as a liaison with the Investment Group, other business groups, and stakeholders to understand corporate action event details and impacts. Researches, executes investment group decisions, and processes corporate action activity in a timely, accurate and complete manner - ensuring accounting, operations, and valuation accurately reflect corporate action activity across the globe. Performs and/or monitors more complex accounting and operational duties for investment vehicles. Promotes a collaborative and positive work environment and operates as technical subject matter expert within team. Identifies, recommends, and participates in continuous improvement activities.
Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
Core Production Responsibilities: Plays a key oversight role within a given team to ensure all deliverables are completed accurately and timely, including working with team members and with a wide range of stakeholders to understand issues of all complexities. Specific responsibilities include:
Prepares highly complex activity and reviews work (end to end), often requiring manual intervention, and broad upstream and downstream consideration of impacts such as trading, valuation, NAV, and financial reporting. Overall STP processing rate is low, creating high levels of risk/exposure in processing environment.
With respect to The Capital System, monitors assigned standard and complex events to ensure instructions are provided to appropriate parties prior to deadline and provides oversight by reviewing instructions submitted by other associates. Anticipates and resolves potential processing issues.
Analyzes impact of corporate action events, reaching out to impacted groups for input.
Communicates with Investment Group to provide investment options and request recommendations.
Executes investment decisions on corporate action events and works with other business units to provide event instructions and verify compliance with guidelines, regulatory rules, tax consequences and other restrictions.
Works with necessary teams on the processing of corporate action events that require order entry, eligibility criteria, and Action List rating activity.
Leverages relationships and trust with the Investment Group and Trading by soliciting input to improve processes and resolve operational issues.
Utilizes experience to answer complex and unusual inquiries from the Investment Groups and Trading.
Researches and analyzes issues of all complexity. Assesses impacts and recommends solutions, including determining needs for broader communication and collaboration.
Delegates, provides oversight and coaching to other associates on the research and resolution of issues of basic to moderate complexity.
Plays an important role in the ongoing maintenance and strengthening of the control environment by identifying the root cause of issues to determine potential controls or process improvements
Analyzes various reports/data and implements appropriate action to resolve exceptions between internal and external systems.
Assesses and tracks vendor performance against key performance indicators to ensure adherence to accuracy and timeliness standards as set forth in the service level agreements. Escalates issues to Leads and Managers
Leads the technical training of other associates. Develops training plans for new associates, and provides feedback on associate performance and development needs
Performs additional responsibilities, as needed

Possesses deep subject matter expertise in the domain of the specific team's responsibilities.
Develops a working knowledge of upstream and downstream processes and systems to enable effective collaboration and issue resolution
Possesses a deep expertise on the core technology platforms (internal and external) used in the team
Demonstrates working knowledge of Capital System, Investment process, and range of investors and investment offerings to enable effective issue resolution.
Ad hoc or Project Responsibilities: Develops credibility and strong working relationships by partnering and collaborating with other associates, teams, and internal and external stakeholders to develop recommendations for cross functional solutions and enable the launch of new products and services.
Projects and Initiatives
Leads small to moderately sized projects and/or serves as a team member for large/complex projects
Participates in and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the team (from ideation to implementation) to achieve straight through processing, improve efficiency and effectiveness, and create capacity to focus on more complex and ambiguous issues (e.g., recommendations on process, ways of working, systems, priorities, etc.)
Collaborates with leads and management to establish project plan and processes based on defined business initiatives. Sets milestones and target dates, assigns tasks, and allocates resources to ensure timeliness of delivery
Identifies and addresses impacts, and communicates updates to managers and stakeholders
In collaboration with the Lead, applies experience to make recommendations on workload allocation across the team
Interacts and oversees relationships with a variety of internal and external parties (i.e., accountants, consultants, auditors, outsourcing providers) to ensure that questions and issues are addressed using the appropriate level of confidentiality, when necessary
Consults with and provides guidance on operational issues and technical questions
Specific activities could include:
Support CG's investment strategies by developing an understanding of corporate action requirements, assessing process and system impacts, developing solutions, and supporting team and department readiness including participating or leading testing and training.
Partner with IT and other teams to design system enhancements, develop testing scenarios, update relevant procedures and processes, and ensure readiness of team to adopt changes, including training.
Understand impacts of regulatory requirement changes to team and department operations and systems and actively participate in working groups or project teams to solution.
Represent your team in cross functional working groups to enable department and team readiness for the launch of new capabilities, products, and systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Able to assess issues, identify potential solutions, and implement changes/improvements to achieve the right outcomes and that have tangible and impactful implications for the business. For complex/ambiguous issues, work with Lead Analyst on best course of action
Proactively identify opportunities and drive implementation with oversight as needed. Effectively lead and manage process and procedural changes.
Strong business acumen to understand and anticipate business needs/requirements. Demonstrates existing knowledge of, or ability to quickly assimilate to, Capital Group-specific practices and knowledge (e.g., knowledge of the investment management industry as it relates to Capital Group's various lines of business, investment mandates, investment vehicle structures, investment operations, and reporting and regulatory environment. Your name and contact data will be collected at the time you apply for a job at The Capital Group. The remaining personal data will only be collected after an offer has been made to you from The Capital Group companies.

AUTOMATED DECISION MAKING

When applicants apply directly, CG may use automated decision making to select candidates for further evaluation that have minimum qualifications or certifications as required and outlined in the role description.
WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?
CG stores your personal data at our premises and with our service providers. We store your data in the European Economic Area (EEA), and outside the EEA.
To enable us to act as an integrated global business, your personal data may be transferred to countries where your privacy rights may not be protected as extensively as in your home country. We have EU Approved Model Clauses in place for the collection, use, and retention of personal data transferred from the EU to other countries. For example, because we are headquartered in the United States, information collected in other countries is routinely transferred to the United States for processing. When we transfer your personal data to a different country, we will endeavor to ensure that adequate security measures are taken and that the transfer complies with applicable laws.

CG is committed to protecting the security of your personal data. CG (and its group companies) uses a variety of technologies and procedures to help protect your data from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Our measures provide a level of security appropriate to the risk presented.
We require all third-parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with applicable laws. Our third-party providers are required to take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data. HOW LONG DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?
Where we collect your personal data, the length of time for which we retain depends on:
the type of data, the purpose for which we use that data, and our accounting, regulatory and legal data retention obligations.
We do not retain personal data in an identifiable format for longer than is necessary. This is country specific, for example in the UK it is 6 months, Spain 3 years, France 2 years.
Data related to job positions you applied for (including interview feedback collected) will be deleted or anonymized automatically after the specific time period stipulated for the country. Your candidate profile remains active, until you delete it or it is automatically deleted.
YOUR RIGHTS TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA
You have the following rights, which you can exercise under certain circumstances in relation to your personal data:
Under a subject access request, you can ask for access to your personal data which we are keeping about you.
