As a Senior Data Engineer, you will contribute to the creation of a best-in-class DataOps function to support a data supply chain that provides for Capital Group's data and analytics needs across its lines of business. You will provide leadership on defining data operations processes and support model, work with complex data pipelines, big data platforms hosted in the cloud, and provide innovative ways to operate and support complex data delivery solutions. You will also contribute to our goal of operational excellence through leadership, rigorous analysis, continuous improvement, and influencing enhancement decisions that reduce friction and increase reliability, while influencing and developing a thorough understanding of standards and best practices used by your team.

You have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another technical field
You have at least 8 years of experience in Data Engineering
You have advanced quantitative experience such as business intelligence, big data platforms, reporting, analytics, machine learning, and database development, which demonstrate your ability to support and operate complex technical solutions
You have a strong background in backend system architecture patterns and technologies such as:(Modern distributed systems design patterns, Microservices and Serverless design paradigms), (SQL/ NOSQL databases), (RESTful APIs, cloud-based/enterprise-grade message brokers or streaming platforms), (Container orchestration systems (Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes)
You have advanced knowledge of technical and functional designs for SQL, databases, ETL, data pipelines, data warehousing, data lakes, and data modeling
You have demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Azure, AWS or other cloud platforms
You have experience working on a Machine Learning Platform, like Databricks ML/ Sage Maker, Kubeflow and understand the use of a Feature store, Model Management and ML Ops
Southern California Base Salary Range: $140,995-$225,592
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
