Position summary

As part of our 2024 10-week internship program, Capital Group warmly invite for university undergraduates to apply for an internship opportunity within Investment Operations! This will be a 10-week internship between 13 May to 19 July 2024.

Capital Group's Investment Operations Group focuses on delivering several key capabilities to Capital's investment and distribution groups, supporting the investment process and distribution efforts.

Successful applicants will be placed in one of the following teams:

Core Operations

The Core Operations team is made up of various functions, including Equity and Fixed Income Trade Support, Corporate Actions and PACT (Institutional client account onboarding and servicing). The intern will be predominantly supporting the Equity Trade Support function but will have opportunities to learn from the other teams. The scope of work for Equity Trade support will involve ensuring timely processing and settlement of trades, generation of client reports, and providing operational support to clients and internal stakeholders. Also, there will be opportunities to participate in continuous improvement initiatives, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team's processes

Global Investment Control

Global Investment Control (GIC) is the investment compliance department of Capital Group, and this function in the asset management industry focuses on ensuring that portfolio managers' investment decisions adhere to the guidelines, restrictions and limits set by clients, country regulators and our own firm's risk and investment policies. Because of the dynamic nature of supporting the investment group, the department works together globally, providing investment compliance advice for portfolio managers, monitoring daily compliance and providing timely support for Asia clients.

Client Operations

The Client Operations team coordinates the onboarding of our financial intermediaries and institutional investors for our Australia, Luxembourg and UK fund ranges, including distribution agreement negotiations, distribution fees set up, account opening and governance approvals. On a day to day basis, the team oversees the outsourced transfer agency function for the fund ranges to maintain good investor experience, and also handle investor servicing directly where required. The team actively participates in fund projects including fund launches, changes and technology initiatives by our transfer agencies.

Results

As an intern within our Results team in Singapore, you will have the opportunity to be part of a team which interacts with our business partners to deliver timely and accurate results measurement and analysis for Capital Group's Lux Funds suite of mutual funds and institutional accounts. The team will be responsible for calculating and analyzing portfolio results, attribution, and analytics in support of external clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders such as Sales, Client Servicing, Marketing, Publishing, Business Management and Product & Investment Services.

Global Client Services

Provides a range of services to Capital Group's institutional clients and financial intermediaries in Asia Pacific ex Japan. In partnership with CG's sales and client relationship teams within the Europe & Asia Client Group (EACG) organization, the Client Relations team serves as the central point of servicing contact for our clients to resolve day to day client queries and to lead regular portfolio review meeting cycle, with the aim of delivering a superior client experience. The RFP Writers team partners with EACG to create an accurate presentation of CG's investment strategies by gathering and developing written content and information to complete responses to requests for information (RFI), due diligence requests (DDQs) and requests for proposals (RFP). The Global Client Activity team coordinates, oversees and/or leads separate account activities (onboarding, transition, cashflows and termination) for the Asia Pacific client base, ensuring that all legal, operational, compliance and transitional requirements are comprehensively identified, tasked and completed with a high level of client service.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
