The Hartford is seeking an Agency Compensation Analyst to support all The Hartford’s business units. The candidate will partner with Business Leaders, IT Leaders, Project Managers, Architects, and Finance to define & support the Agency Compensation spend.
This role supports the compensation team and timelines during annual program changes to working with CFO’s to forecast spends during the year.
You will be utilizing technology and building requirements to design approaches to accomplish your goals and interpret data. You will also help monitor and ensure the quality and timeliness of compensation program by way of pragmatic thought and data driven recommendations.
This role can be hired at various levels depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
Utilize resources and analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, Tableau Prep, MS Excel & TOAD to develop models and forecasting tools to monitor our commission investments
Develop data sets and tools that will allow stakeholders to conduct analyses to drive segment compensation initiatives
Conduct analytics of financial and other quantitative data and develop analytical models; this individual will synthesize the results, apply critical reasoning, and make pragmatic and data-driven recommendations
Interact with home office CFO’s, home office Sales leadership, and field sales leadership to obtain proper information and understanding of the commission investments and utilization
Responsible for design, build and delivery of our Group Benefits and P&C pricing and financial modeling of compensation programs
Interpret data, formulate hypothesis, provide observations, and recommend enhancements to each of our program investments
Provide leadership, oversight, analytic support, and subject matter expertise in the development of compensation strategies for the field sales organization working closely with the P&C business segments
Responsibilities also include maintaining and supporting proper workflows, enhancing tools & models, identifying, and pursuing data deficiencies, support the compensation program requirements, explaining the rationale of deficiencies, and participate in the larger cross functional team initiatives to improve the areas efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred; a candidate pursing Finance, Accounting, or Economics is highly recommended
Mastery of Microsoft Products such as Excel & Access is required. Competency with Tableau, Tableau Prep, and data modeling skills as well as knowledge of statistical and predictive modeling methods.
Excellent communication skills - both oral and written, formal and informal; effective at communicating complex analysis concisely.
Ability to work within a high pressure, multi-task environment due to the volume of work and compensation cycle.
Proactive individual, who challenges existing processes, can influence others and drive a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines.
Strong project management and agile knowledge, specifically within a matrixed organization.
Willingness to learn new things, ability to handle change, and driven to succeed
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
