The Hartford's Enterprise Data Organization is seeking a Associate Business Data Analyst in our Charlotte, NC or Hartford, CT office. We are seeking a talented professional with a background in data management and data risk at an enterprise level. Our ideal candidate will develop deep technical expertise and exhibit strong communication skills to partner on delivery of our enterprise data policies and data privacy requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Own, enhance, and continually maintain the Data Governance Services’ metrics dashboard and reporting
  • Act as a liaison between the business, data management services, and the enterprise data council to ensure data policies, standards and best practices are understood, approved, implemented, and enforced.
  • Partner with the Privacy and Metadata teams to help comply with current and emerging regulations.
  • Partner with the Data Policies and Rules team to develop and deliver an enterprise-wide data risk assessment, mitigation and reporting strategy.
  • Partner with the Data Policies and Rules team to develop and deliver a data policy compliance and reporting strategy
  • Partner with various parts of the organization to build a working knowledge of the organization, business processes, and its customers
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward collaboration, accountability, diversity, and continuous improvement

What Qualifications are we looking for?

  • A self-motivated, accomplished professional with 1+ year(s) of data management / data governance experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management or equivalent
  • Preferred industry knowledge in insurance or financial data
  • Knowledge of data management tools, such as Talend, IBM Infosphere (or similar catalog tool), Informatica with familiarity of emerging data centric technologies
  • Knowledge of Agile/Kanban methodologies
  • Preferred previous data engineering experience in 1 or more of the following data stores: AWS Offerings, (RDS, Elastic Search, S3) Oracle, Snowflake
  • Ability to organize a team of multiple stakeholders, motivate them to a common goal and communicate effectively on an on-going basis
  • Excellent written communications skills, developing clear and persuasive analyses and presentations through emails, presentation decks and decision documents
  • Ability and willingness to handle multiple concurrent projects and working in an ambiguous work environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and relationship skills; strong partnership and collaboration skill

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$49,360 - $74,040
