    Position summary

    A Quality Specialist is responsible for support of department objectives and strategies related to the mitigation of risk associated with unbundled claim handling, and delivery of customer value.

    The TPA Quality Specialist facilitates audits of The Hartford's TPA Partners handling of claims arising under Auto, General Liability, Property, Product Recall and Ocean Marine Cargo coverages. Depending upon expertise, they may also assist with claims arising under Workers' Compensation coverage. This responsibility requires coordination with contracted TPA partners handling Hartford insured claims. In addition, the TPA Specialist works closely with the TPA Consultants, TPA Claim Service Executives and the TPA Services Data & Operations Team to address issues identified as a result of the audit process.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience is required
    • 5+ years of auto and/or general liability claim handling required
    • Quality control/claim leadership experience is preferred
    • Knowledge of TPA business and processes preferred
    • Property, Ocean Marine Cargo, Product Recall, and/or Workers' Compensation expertise a plus
    • Knowledge and experience working with multiple business segments preferred (captive programs, national accounts, construction, programs, etc)
    • Strong technical and multi-jurisdictional knowledge of claims and their respective claim processes
    • Experience accurately evaluating files from a holistic perspective and skilled in
    the art of calibration
    • Effective project management with the ability to manage and execute multiple
    projects and priorities
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong software (e.g., Excel) systems including the ability to manipulate data
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends, draw conclusions,
    and effectively make recommendations
    • Self-motivated with a strong desire for excellence
    • Strong team mentality and demonstrated experience successfully participating in team based objectives
    • Builds strong relationships as a result of a consistent customer service approach
    • Demonstrates sound business judgment and decision making skills
    • Travel 10% or less

    This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Scottsdale, AZ, Naperville, IL ) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $89,600 - $134,400
