    Position summary

    to coach and guide toward career development, you will be equipped with the right tools to build a long-lasting and evolving professional career. 

    • Start date is January 29, 2024 

    • Training Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00a-4:30pm CST for the first 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) of employment. 

    • Training is 100% onsite in our Naperville, IL office.   

    • After training, the year-round shift will be Mon-Fri 8:00a-4:30pm CST 

    Key Responsibilities:  

    • Be the first point of contact to our policyholders, explaining the claims process, initiating damage appraisal, and organizing car rental where appropriate 

    • Initiate claims according to claims best practices, as assigned, and provide exceptional customer service 

    • Promote digital self service capabilities 

    • Utilize multiple computer applications to accurately document claim information 

    • Take ownership to ensure that we go above and beyond to service each caller's needs, utilizing every touch point as an opportunity to build value and The Hartford brand 

    • Be provided with 6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) of paid training as well as ongoing coaching and development to ensure your success 

    Qualifications:  

    • A demonstrated background in customer service, insurance, retail, restaurant, or a related field 

    • Excellent communication skills with strong ability to empathize with customers

    • Strong attention to detail 

    • Experience working in a Windows-based computer environment 

    • The ability to work in a collaborative environment 

    • Problem solving and critical thinking skills and have a strong attention to detail. 

    • You use excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingual – Spanish/English is a plus) to develop and enhance strong impactful customer relationships 

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor’s degree a plus 

    Additional Information: 

    • This is an Onsite opportunity working in our Naperville, IL office  

    • Work Arrangements: The Hartford is proud to offer a hybrid work location model that is designed to support flexibility. Training for this role will be conducted in-office. The option to participate in two-day remote work will be offered after role efficiency is attained, subject to manager discretion and based on business needs. 

    • Availability to work holidays is required, including holidays that fall on your normal days’ off 

    As a condition of employment, you will be required to successfully complete a multi-week New Hire Training Course and, upon completion, obtain a passing score on the final course assessment.  Continued employment with The Hartford is contingent upon you successfully passing the exam(s) within 30 business days from the completion of the New Hire Training. You should have no schedule conflicts during training. 

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $40,685 - $61,027
