d Analytics team is one of three practices (business-aligned teams) in the broader Business Insurance Data Science, AI and Analytics organization. This role will serve as a strategic leader and thought partner to Middle & Large Business leaders and to the Business Insurance Data Science, AI & Analytics leadership team. This role directly oversees a team of ~5 who are responsible for the success and impact of the full portfolio through accountability for unique subsets through asset and product ownership.
As a Director of Asset Ownership, you will be expected to build relationships and partner with stakeholders to ensure that data science solutions are addressing business problems as intended and achieving the expected value. You will identify gaps and opportunities in existing processes and devise new or improved data science solutions to identify risks, enhance processes, and increase operational efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with your team and stakeholders on the creation of a long-term vision for your team's portfolio and collaborate closely with your business partners to ensure alignment of goals.
This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a team to guide the development and adoption of advanced analytic solutions
Build strong partnerships with business customers and act as key point of contact for Middle & Large Business data science & analytics portfolio with internal stakeholders
Coordinate with Global Specialty and Small Business Data Science and analytics teams on sharing solutions that have reusability across for increased synergies and achieve scale
Continue to increase Agile maturity and end-to-end embeddedness of data science teams with other partner organizations including Transformation, CIO and EDS teams
Develop the communication plan and marketing strategy of key capstone initiatives. Build customer artifacts to support adoption, marketing and socialization including documentation, project plans, roadmaps and insight briefs
Identify opportunities to evolve or reuse existing assets or develop new assets that could add operational and business value
Instill disciplined project timelines and support teams capacities to deliver results in a timely manner; advance team aptitude in setting and managing expectations internally and externally
Execute well-designed communication plans tailored to audiences ranging from technical peers to business stakeholders of various levels
Develop the vision and strategic planning, success criteria, CBA and value propositions for advanced analytics solutions supporting Middle & Large Business
Communicate with and influence audiences of various levels and diverse background
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in supporting analytic or machine learning product ownership or technical development in insurance or related field recommended
Experience in managing a team of technical and non-technical teammates in a project-based environment
Expertise in turning a new business problem into an executable technical or analytical solution
Expertise in impactful storytelling, communication, and relationship-building across a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
Solid knowledge of Agile principles Product Owner role; direct experience preferred
Expertise in leveraging Microsoft tools to develop compelling visuals articulating complex analytical topics
Expertise in translating complex technical topics into business solutions and strategies as well as turn business requirements into a technical solution
Experience with leading project execution and driving change to core business processes through the innovative use of quantitative techniques
Basic understanding of statistics, the analytical project lifecycle, data science concepts, data transformation and data warehouse concepts
Domain knowledge in Insurance and KPIs is a plus
Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$140,560 - $210,840
