As a Software Engineer full-stack Java Spring Framework developer, you will be a hands-on lead engineer in our journey to build business capabilities in support of the GB Customer Connections program. Your leadership will be essential to the success of our agile team as we build API connectivity between company systems and external platforms. To be a software engineer on our team, you need to be willing to work solo and as a member of an agile scrum team. That means we expect our software engineers to collaborate with our product owners, designers, and architects. You will write software, create database scripts, and help other engineers do the same. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of work experience in software engineering
A minimum of 3 years of experience programming in Java utilizing the Java Spring framework.
AWS certification with a minimum of 3 years of experience developing AWS Cloud applications preferred.
Hands-on development experience with Java, Java Spring Framework, AWS Cloud Formation and PL/SQL language required.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases including Oracle, Postgres and DynamoDB.
Working knowledge of MQ Series, DataPower, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon SQS and SNS, and APIC integration platforms is also required
Hands on experience product unit and assembly level as well as system wide test automation using frameworks such as Cucumber and Karate.
Experience using GitHub, Jenkins, UDeploy, and Nexus tools for code versioning, build, and migration.
Working experience with developing SOAP and REST APIs as well as having the ability to research and understand third party API provider integration requirements.
Experience with application architecture, software design and design patterns
Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently to design and deliver business solutions
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$80,480 - $120,720
