    In this role within the acclaimed Hartford School of Insurance, you will design and develop best-in-class adult training curricula for agency and broker partners, including programs such as entry-level, product knowledge, sales, customer service, general business and industry.

    This role can be hired at various levels depending on experience.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide high quality technical insurance product training, both in a virtual and in-person classroom setting, to commercial lines producers, agency Account Managers. 

    • Create a learning environment that establishes rapport and excitement for the training experience. 

    • Use of effective questioning, listening and engagement techniques to enhance group participation. 

    • Manage and administer all activities related to our training programs. 

    • Timely completion of activities such as lesson planning, use of multi-media tools and communication devices, completion of trainee evaluation reports and scheduling and delivering one-on-one feedback to individual trainees, as needed. 

    • Provide effective classroom management and takes appropriate action to address behavioral or performance issues. 

    • Design and develop best-in-class adult training curricula for agency and broker partners, including programs such as entry-level, product knowledge, sales, customer service, general business and industry. 

    • Monitor projects, timelines, and deliverables to ensure they are on track and within budget. 

    • Work with Director of Training and Executive Training Directors to evaluate the effectiveness of training and make appropriate adjustments/enhancements to training curricula based on those results. 

    • Maintain and update curricula programs to ensure they keep pace with changing industry trends and customer needs

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 6 years commercial lines underwriting experience

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Presentation skills

    • Strong business acumen

    • Organizational agility

    • Customer focused

    • Understanding of agency operations

    • Time management skills

    • Exceptional interpersonal skill; relates well to people at all levels of the organization.

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $58,640 - $87,960
