In this role, you will support the Construction Bond line of business strategies by marketing and underwriting business in partnership with field office specialists. Risk Selection/Technical Underwriting: Rigorously analyzes underwriting information and assesses increasingly complex risk within the framework of company standards and makes recommendations to management.
Maintains disciplined adherence to underwriting and service standards. Weighs decisions between underwriting standards and customer needs and expectations. Balances risk relative to return to make effective and acceptable underwriting decisions.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and assess underwriting information and complex risk and make recommendations to management.
Maintain disciplined adherence to underwriting and service standards.
Weighs decisions between underwriting standards and customer needs and expectations.
Balances risk relative to return to make effective and acceptable underwriting decisions.
Assist in conducting client meetings/agency calls.
Develop marketing plans and strategies.
Cultivate customer and producer relationships to promote Bond products and services within regional office.
Seek out resources to identify and satisfy customer and producer needs.
Share pertinent information to support product development, market research and identification of business opportunities between Bond lines of business and other HIG business units.
Implement strategy with area of responsibility in accordance with regional direction.
Effectively utilize the Bond Center to support sales and service objectives.
Ensure achievement of financial goals and business plan objectives.
Manage change effectively and positively.
Utilize system efficiently and effectively.
Qualifications:
BA/BS required in finance, accounting or economics or advance degree preferred
AFSB designation highly desired
3 + years of contract surety underwriting experience
Must be a multi-dimensional team player, possess strong product knowledge, sales ability and underwriting expertise
Valid driver’s license as this position may utilize a company vehicle
Position may be filled at a different level, depending on experience
Salary $81,760 - $149-640
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
