The Hartford’s Group Benefits IT Team is seeking a highly motivated, experienced IT professional who is responsible for leading engineering teams to successfully drive the transformation of our application landscape. This Tech Lead will work on an agile team and partner with a vendor achieve business outcomes on a large transformational program.
Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent partnership, solid technical acumen, experience in delivering quality technical solutions as well as setting and executing on a strategic technical vision to ensure the systems are stable, performant, and secure.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in application software solution development
Hands on experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS), SaaS, and open-source frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Java and J2EE technologies, such as, Java Web Services, JMS, JSP, XML, JSON, JDBC etc.
Experience with Web Services (SOAP and Rest). Using Apache Camel is a plus
Experience with writing and using APIs.
Experience with containerization and experience in cloud infrastructure environments like Open Shift AWS.
Experience working in the security domain a plus.
Experience with rules engines like IBM ODM or Pega is nice-to-have.
Front-end skills using Angular or React is helpful.
Scripting language such as Python is helpful.
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server relational database technologies. Knowledge of open-source database technologies is beneficial
Experience with continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, preferred tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Rally, SonarQube etc.
Experience with AWS CloudFormation is a plus
Ability to write and review well-abstracted, reusable code for all backend components.
Contribute to the code base and ensure code and processes adhere to clean code practices and industry best practices.
Experience working in an Agile or SAFe development environment.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$88,480 - $168,240
