Independently develop and communicate key state performance metrics such as rate indications, trends, loss development patterns, and catastrophe loads in support of rate filings, performance monitoring, profitability analyses or other ad hoc analyses. Communicate to win internal and external approval on proposed changes.
Create and improve modernized advanced analytical tools utilizing knowledge of actuarial methods and technical skills Snowflake, R, VBA, and Python.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with countrywide and state product management, technology, operations, data science, actuarial, compliance and legal organizations.
Manage Participate in countrywide projects, analytical tool development and class plan enhancements, or maintenance of complex product features and rate level setting process refinements.
Work as a team to continuously improve the analytical capabilities of the organization, including data capabilities and increased automation, documentation, and quality measures.
Mentor newer team members and help drive the day to day execution within the team.
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
