Group Benefits Product Execution Group supports the drafting, filing, implementation, and compliance of group insurance contracts. This position is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining legally defensible group insurance policy and ancillary product material. This position reports to the Assistant Director of the Product Execution Group.
A hybrid work schedule with a mix of days working in the office and days working from home is preferred but a fully remote work arrangement will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
Drafting accurate and legally defensible group insurance policy and ancillary product material
Analyzing, researching and interpreting Regulatory changes and determining impacts to Products
Working and negotiating with departments of insurance on filed language to resolution
Establishing effective working relationship with internal and external customers
Recommending process improvement, and the streamlining of existing workflows with a focus on end to end processes across business functions
Identifying key opportunities and work with management to develop best practices, resolve procedural overlap and inconsistencies, and/or provide training in response to key learnings
Supporting various projects as a subject matter expert as directed by manager
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of insurance business operations expertise
Solid knowledge of group products, such as Life, Disability and AD&D
Effective written, verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Able to make reasonable decisions and take action, when to or not to escalate
Demonstrated solid work ethic with a sense of urgency toward driving results
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to shift priorities as business needs change
Possess the ability to drive operational excellence
Proven coaching and mentoring skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a team
Experience in identifying and driving process change
Previous drafting and filing experience is preferred
Strong customer focus
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$63,440 - $95,160
