    The Hartford’s Small Commercial IT Team is seeking a highly motivated, experienced IT professional who is responsible for leading engineering teams to successfully drive the transformation of various applications to Cloud and digital frameworks. We are looking for Cloud Engineer(s) to play a key role to migrate and build applications and designing new architecture patterns on AWS.   Person will be working in an agile team and partner with multiple teams to achieve business outcomes on a large transformational program. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as key liaison between the architecture and technical delivery teams to influence the technical strategy for the organization, keeping in mind its cross functional impacts, integration across the organization, and architecture rationalization.
    • Collaboration with teams to identify opportunities for integration across tools used in the life cycle, including agile, test automation, platform configuration management, and drive efficiencies.
    • Ability to provide concise, transparent communications about potential risks, mitigations and business impacts in a timely manner.
    • Ability to understand technology trade off risks and rewards for the best customer value delivery.
    • Challenges teams for continuous improvement ideas and supports the team for implementation.
    • Takes ownership to drive innovation for effectively leveraging technology to solve the customer problem.
    • Oversee technical deliverables, coaching and mentoring of junior developers and enforcing development guidelines and best practices
    • Responsible for designing, building and maintenance of the assets. involving multiple platforms and business solutions within Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Cloud (AWS) technologies etc.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to design and document solutions that align with the business needs and are consistent with the architectural vision
    • Takes ownership to drive innovation for effectively leveraging technology to solve the customer problem.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or 3+ years of experience in application software solution development
    • Experience with Front-End Application Development platforms, techniques, and implementations, including frameworks such as Node.js, AngularJS, CSS, Bootstrap etc.
    • Develop and implement front-end components, views, and interfaces
    • Develop and implement back-end controllers, models, plugins, modules, etc.
    • Build reusable code and libraries for future use and technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
    • Understanding of front-end markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
    • Basic understanding of CSS preprocessing platforms like LESS and SASS
    • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX. Observables and Promises

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $91,760 - $137,640
