    Position summary

    for interaction with security and infrastructure teams, the successful candidates will have a willingness to learn and understand existing processes and systems and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.  They should be able to make decisions quickly in consultation with team members while building strong relationships with The Hartford security and infrastructure subject matter experts as well as the business and IT stakeholders for the enterprise CMS application.

    Position will be remote and/or in our Hartford, CT office.

    Responsibilities of the position include:

    • Maintain and enhance existing architecture including Magnolia PAAS CMS, AWS Lambdas and APIs
    • Patching, Outage Notifications, Vulnerabilities, Backups, Storage, Exceptions
    • Provide technical leadership ensuring and continuously improving on system performance, stability, and integrity
    • Bridge any gaps between the application team and cloud support teams
    • Lead disaster and cyber recovery plans and tests
    • Improve and assist application Quality Engineering, QA testing and development process
    • Work closely with onshore and offshore team to ensure seamless support model
    • Improve and standardize system documentation
    • Demonstrate ability to understand technology trade off risks/reward to achieve best customer value
    • Demonstrate ability to provide concise communications about technical risks, mitigations and/or recommendations appropriate for the target audience
    • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a level of attention to detail

    Required Qualifications:

    • Experience developing web applications using Java as main technology (3+ years)
    • Experience in a system security or infrastructure role (2+ years)
    • Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, S3, Terraform, CloudFormation (1+ years)
    • Knowledge of monitoring and auditing systems
    • Knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JS)
    • Experience with continuous integration, DevOps methodologies, best practices, and tools:
      • GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus, SonarQube, Checkmarx, uDeploy
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience as part of a Scrum or Kanban team.  Rally experience preferred

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with Magnolia CMS or other Content Management Systems
    • Experience monitoring and managing AWS cloud services.  Dynatrace and Splunk knowledge a plus
    • Computer Science degree or related technical experience along with several years of system experience
    • AWS SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Advance Networking Certification a plus

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
